Description
SediFree contains high-performance bacteria for the degradation of organic sludge deposits.
The two-component system with active oxygen granulate accelerates sludge degradation and specifically prevents sludge accumulation and continuous turbidity. The granulate containing active oxygen sinks deep into the sludge layer and oxidises it. Microorganisms then degrade the organic material.
Ideal conditions for this are when the water temperature is 12°C or above. Instructions Usage instructions for OASE AquaActiv SediFree Pond silt remover.
In garden ponds, unsightly silt deposits can occur due to dead vegetation, such as leaves, plant remains, or due to fish food, or fish waste. This silt is particularly rich in nutrients (particularly phosphates), and consequently offers algae an additional source of nutrients. In addition the silt can cause unpleasant odours. Because there is a natural lack of oxygen in the sediment, the silt can only be decomposed naturally with difficulty. In this case the silt should either be removed mechanically with the silt vacuum OASE PondoVac, or mechanically/biologically with an OASE filter system. Fast and purely biological aid is offered by the pond silt remover SediFree with high-performance bacteria and active oxygen. Function : SediFree consists of a mixture of natural micro organisms that are specialised in decomposing the plant components lignin and cellulose, which otherwise are difficult to decompose. Through additionally contained active oxygen, the sediment is simultaneously enriched with oxygen to offer the micro organisms optimal conditions for decomposing the silt. Consequently AquaActiv SediFree is capable of more quickly decomposing organic deposits on the pond floor (leaves, plant remains, fish food remnants, etc.) and the silt that occurs, than are the silt bacteria that occur naturally. OASE filtration systems prevent silt build up.
Application : Apply SediFree uniformly direct on the silted-up areas. The granulate sinks into the sediment and then works locally. You can additionally increase the efficiency, by ensuring a supplemental supply of oxygen, for example through the OASE aerator pump AquaOxy. The product is most effective at water temperatures above 15°C. At cooler temperatures decomposition through the reduced bacterial activity takes a correspondingly longer period of time. During treatment, if UVC systems are present, they should be switched off for at least 36 hours. Dosage: Shake the bottle well before using. For the first treatment apply 50 ml SediFree per 1,000 litres on the problem zones. Apply further treatments after 4 weeks by adding 10 - 20 ml SediFree per 1,000 litres of pond water once a week. Protect the product from freezing temperatures, moisture and high temperatures. Do not use in bodies of water used for the breeding and keeping of edible fish.
