1. Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases made through the Rockworld Water Features website, www.rockworld.ie, and to the use of our website.
Rockworld Features Limited ("Rockworld", "we", "us" or "our") is committed to providing quality products and good customer service.
2. Ordering from Rockworld
By placing an order through our website, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are authorised to use the payment method provided.
Once an order has been placed, we will endeavour to process it as quickly as possible.
We reserve the right to contact you where there is a problem with your order, including issues concerning product availability, pricing, delivery or information provided with the order.
If we are unable to fulfil an order, we will contact you and arrange an appropriate solution, including a refund where applicable.
3. Product Information
We make every reasonable effort to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, specifications and prices displayed on our website are accurate.
Product photographs are for illustration and products may differ slightly in appearance from images shown on the website.
Manufacturer specifications may change from time to time. Where a manufacturer changes a specification, we will endeavour to update the relevant product information.
You should always read and follow the manufacturer's installation, operating and maintenance instructions supplied with your product.
4. Delivery
Our aim is to provide reliable and affordable delivery options and to process orders as quickly as possible.
Standard parcel deliveries within the Republic of Ireland normally take approximately 2–3 working days and are generally sent using DPD or another suitable courier.
Larger items may be delivered by pallet and normally take approximately 3–5 working days.
Orders placed on Saturday or Sunday will normally be processed on the following working day.
Delivery times are estimates rather than guaranteed delivery dates. Delays can occasionally occur due to circumstances outside our reasonable control, including courier delays, severe weather, transport disruption or other unforeseen circumstances.
Where you have a particular delivery requirement, please contact us before placing your order. We will do our best to accommodate reasonable requests.
Deliveries outside the Republic of Ireland
For deliveries outside the Republic of Ireland, please contact us for delivery costs and arrangements before placing an order where a delivery rate is not displayed at checkout.
Checking your delivery
Please check your delivery as soon as reasonably possible after receipt.
If packaging appears damaged, please notify us as soon as possible and, where practical, photograph the packaging and the product before disposing of any packaging.
If goods have been damaged during delivery, please contact us promptly at info@rockworld.ie and provide your order number and photographs of the damage.
Please retain the original packaging until any delivery damage issue has been resolved.
A request to report delivery damage promptly is intended to help us investigate courier claims efficiently and does not remove or restrict any statutory consumer rights.
5. Your Statutory Consumer Rights
When you purchase goods from Rockworld as a consumer, your rights are protected by Irish consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2022.
Goods supplied to consumers should be:
- of the quality and performance that consumers can reasonably expect;
- fit for their intended purpose;
- as described;
- durable to the extent reasonably expected; and
- in conformity with the contract.
Where goods are faulty or do not conform to the contract, you may have statutory rights to a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund depending on the circumstances.
Where Rockworld is responsible for a statutory remedy, we will deal with the matter directly with you.
A manufacturer's warranty or Rockworld's commercial warranty does not replace or reduce your statutory consumer rights.
6. Returns & Change of Mind
For standard goods purchased online, consumers generally have a statutory 14-day cancellation period, subject to the statutory exceptions.
Where the statutory cancellation right applies, the relevant legal requirements regarding notification, return of goods and refunds will apply.
Our additional 28-day returns facility
In addition to statutory rights, Rockworld offers an additional 28-day returns facility for eligible unused standard products.
To qualify for our additional 28-day change-of-mind returns facility:
- the item must be unused;
- the item must not have been installed or connected;
- the item must be in its original condition;
- packaging should be intact and suitable for resale; and
- the item must not be a bespoke, made-to-order or otherwise excluded product.
For our additional 28-day returns facility, the customer is responsible for the cost of returning the item to Rockworld.
Handling returned goods
Where the statutory online cancellation right applies, consumers may handle goods to the extent reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning. Where goods have been handled beyond what is reasonably necessary, applicable statutory rules concerning diminished value may apply.
7. Faulty Products
If you believe a product is faulty, please contact us at info@rockworld.ie.
Please provide:
- your order number or proof of purchase;
- the product name/model;
- a description of the problem;
- photographs or video where appropriate; and
- information about how the product was installed, used and maintained where relevant.
We may need to inspect or test a product, or request that it is returned to us, in order to establish the cause of a fault.
Where a statutory repair or replacement is required, the remedy will be provided in accordance with applicable Irish consumer law.
We will not automatically direct customers to the manufacturer where Rockworld is responsible for providing the statutory remedy.
Faults within 30 days
Where goods develop a fault within 30 days of receipt, you may have a statutory short-term right to terminate the contract and receive a refund, subject to the circumstances and applicable legal requirements.
You may alternatively choose a repair or replacement where appropriate.
Faults after 30 days
A product may still be covered by statutory consumer rights after the first 30 days.
Depending on the circumstances, the appropriate remedy may include repair or replacement, followed where appropriate by a price reduction or refund if the issue cannot be resolved in accordance with your statutory rights.
Where a statutory repair or replacement is required, it will be carried out free of charge and within a reasonable time without significant inconvenience.
8. Bespoke & Cut-to-Size Products
Certain products sold by Rockworld are prepared specifically to the customer's requested dimensions.
Examples include:
- pond liner cut to a specified size;
- pond liner underlay cut to a specified size;
- pond hose cut to a specified length;
- pipe cut to a specified length; and
- other products made or prepared specifically to a customer's requirements.
Where goods are made to the customer's specifications or clearly personalised, the statutory 14-day cancellation right may not apply.
Accordingly, correctly supplied bespoke or cut-to-size products cannot normally be cancelled simply because the customer changes their mind or no longer requires them.
Customers should therefore check dimensions and quantities carefully before ordering cut-to-size products.
Pond Liner
Pond liner that is cut specifically to the customer's requested dimensions is a bespoke product.
Customers should carefully check the required length and width before placing an order.
Once liner has been cut specifically to the dimensions requested, it cannot normally be returned simply because the customer has changed their mind, subject to applicable statutory rights.
If the liner is incorrectly cut by Rockworld, is defective, damaged before delivery, or otherwise does not conform to the order, we will deal with the matter in accordance with your statutory rights.
Pond Liner Underlay
Pond liner underlay that is cut specifically to the customer's requested dimensions is also treated as a bespoke/cut-to-size product.
Customers should carefully check their required dimensions before ordering.
Correctly supplied cut-to-size underlay cannot normally be cancelled simply because the customer changes their mind, where the statutory exemption for made-to-order goods applies.
This does not affect statutory rights where the wrong product or dimensions have been supplied, or where the underlay is defective or otherwise does not conform to the contract.
Hose & Pipe
Hose and pipe cut specifically to a customer's requested length is a made-to-order product.
Correctly supplied cut lengths cannot normally be returned simply because the customer changes their mind, where the statutory exemption for made-to-order goods applies.
9. Pond Pumps
Many pond pumps sold by Rockworld are sealed or resin-encapsulated units. The motor and electrical components are not designed to be dismantled or repaired by the customer.
The impeller is a replaceable component and is a normal wear and maintenance part.
Pond pumps should be regularly inspected and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
Pump performance and service life may be affected by:
- limescale or mineral deposits;
- dirt, algae and debris;
- blocked impellers;
- blocked intake areas;
- running the pump dry;
- freezing conditions;
- incorrect installation;
- incorrect electrical supply;
- operation outside the manufacturer's specifications;
- physical damage; or
- inadequate maintenance.
Where a pump stops working, Rockworld may request photographs, video or return of the pump so that the cause can be assessed.
Where failure is caused by limescale, mineral deposits, blockage, misuse, accidental damage, lack of maintenance or another cause unrelated to a product defect, the issue may not be covered by a manufacturer's or additional Rockworld warranty.
This does not affect statutory consumer rights where the pump itself was defective or otherwise failed to conform to the contract.
Pump Impellers
Impellers are moving components and are subject to normal wear. They may require periodic cleaning or replacement depending on operating conditions.
An impeller that becomes worn or blocked through normal use, debris, limescale, mineral deposits or inadequate maintenance is not, by itself, evidence that the pump was defective.
10. Limescale & Mineral Deposits
Pond equipment should be cleaned and maintained regularly, particularly where water has a high mineral or limescale content.
Limescale and mineral deposits can restrict water flow, damage moving parts and reduce the performance or service life of pumps, filters and UV equipment.
Damage or failure caused by limescale or mineral deposits is not covered by an additional Rockworld or manufacturer's warranty where the failure is attributable to those deposits.
Customers should follow the manufacturer's maintenance instructions and use appropriate cleaning procedures.
This provision does not remove or restrict statutory consumer rights where a product itself was defective or did not conform to the contract.
11. UV Clarifiers & UV Bulbs
UV bulbs are consumable components and should normally be replaced at least annually to maintain effective UV performance, or in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
A UV bulb may continue to illuminate after its recommended replacement period while producing substantially reduced UV-C output.
Customers should regularly maintain UV clarifiers, including cleaning the quartz sleeve and checking the unit in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
Normal depletion of UV bulb performance through use is not considered a product defect.
Where a UV bulb fails prematurely or another component is defective, the circumstances will be assessed in accordance with applicable statutory consumer rights and any manufacturer's warranty.
12. Submersible Pond Lights
Submersible lights must be installed and operated in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
Problems caused by the following may not be covered by a manufacturer's or additional Rockworld warranty:
- incorrect installation;
- physical damage;
- damaged cables or connectors;
- incorrect electrical supply;
- freezing;
- modification;
- use outside the manufacturer's specifications; or
- inadequate maintenance.
Where a light or its components are defective and the problem is not attributable to misuse, accidental damage, normal wear or installation/maintenance issues, applicable statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
13. Filter Systems & Filter Media
Pond filtration systems require regular cleaning and maintenance.
Filter media, UV bulbs, seals, impellers and other components may have different expected service lives and may require periodic cleaning, replacement or maintenance.
Reduced filter performance may result from:
- blocked or dirty filter media;
- excessive debris;
- incorrect water flow;
- inadequate cleaning;
- limescale or mineral deposits;
- failure to replace consumable components; or
- incorrect installation or use.
Such issues are not automatically evidence of a defective filter system.
Where a component fails due to a product defect, Rockworld will deal with the matter in accordance with applicable statutory consumer rights.
14. Consumable & Maintenance Components
Some pond equipment contains components that are expected to wear, deteriorate or require periodic replacement.
These may include:
- pump impellers;
- UV bulbs;
- seals and O-rings;
- filter media; and
- other manufacturer-designated consumable or maintenance components.
Normal wear, depletion or deterioration of these components through proper use is not, by itself, evidence that the main product is defective.
Customers should follow the manufacturer's recommended maintenance and replacement intervals.
15. Incorrect Installation, Misuse & Accidental Damage
Products should always be installed and operated in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
Problems caused by circumstances outside the intended use of a product may not be covered by a manufacturer's or additional Rockworld warranty.
Examples include:
- incorrect installation;
- running pumps without sufficient water;
- incorrect voltage or electrical connection;
- physical or accidental damage;
- freezing;
- modification of the product;
- failure to follow manufacturer's instructions;
- failure to carry out required maintenance;
- blockage caused by debris;
- excessive limescale or mineral deposits; or
- use outside the manufacturer's specified operating conditions.
Where a product is reported as faulty, Rockworld may need to establish the cause before determining the appropriate remedy.
16. Manufacturer Warranties
Some products sold by Rockworld are supplied with a manufacturer's warranty or extended manufacturer's guarantee.
Where applicable, details of the manufacturer's warranty will be provided with the product or can be obtained from the relevant manufacturer.
Manufacturer warranties are additional to statutory consumer rights and do not replace or reduce those rights.
Oase products may be eligible for an extended manufacturer's guarantee subject to the manufacturer's registration requirements and terms. Customers should refer to the relevant Oase guarantee information supplied with their product.
17. Repairs
Where a repair is required under statutory consumer law, Rockworld will arrange an appropriate repair or alternative remedy.
Repairs will be carried out free of charge where required by law, within a reasonable period and without significant inconvenience.
Some products, including sealed or resin-encapsulated pond pumps, are not designed to be dismantled or repaired.
Where such a product is found to have a defect for which Rockworld is responsible, the appropriate statutory remedy may therefore be replacement or another remedy rather than repair.
18. Returns Procedure
To arrange a return or report a product issue, please email: info@rockworld.ie
Please include:
- your name;
- order number;
- product details;
- reason for the return or fault report; and
- photographs or video where appropriate.
Please do not return goods without contacting us first where the return relates to a fault or delivery issue.
