The level control unit is also connected to the solenoid valve. The level control unit generates a measuring signal which is used to monitor the voltage applied between the electrodes of the level sensor. The level control unit opens or closes the solenoid valve depending on the measured value. A switch-on and switch-off delay in the electronics prevents wave action from causing unnecessary switching. The LEDs in the display of the level control unit signal the respective status of the drinking water top-up process. The sensitivity of the level sensor to a voltage change can be adjusted via a sensitivity regulator in the level control unit. The sensitivity is set in the factory such that changes are not normally required. The level sensor is operated with a safe extra-low voltage of 12 V (not dangerous to humans) and may therefore be used in swimming or bathing ponds. The solenoid valve functions as follows The solenoid valve converts the electrical signal from the level control unit into a mechanical opening or closing movement.
